Your journey of discovery of Rotorua and its lakes region begins in central Rotorua. You will board a WWII amphibious vehicle known as a "duck" and meet your legendary conDUCKtor who is in charge of your guided tour.

The first lake you will visit is Lake Okareka, known for amazing million dollar homes and its abundance of bird life. You will journey past the Sacred Lake Rotokakahe (the Green Lake) to view the magnificent volcanic domes of Mt. Tarawera.

Your second plunge will be into Lake Tarawera, where you will hear stories of the devastation that fateful day of the eruption in 1886. After cruising Tarawera amongst its ducks and swans, you will have the opportunity to disembark for 15 minutes to capture photos and stretch your legs.

On your return trip, you will view Te Wairoa (The Buried Village) before splashing down into Lake Tikitapu (the Blue Lake). You will pass Rotorua's burgeoning Te Whakarewarewa Forest before heading back to Rotorua.

This is a fun and enjoyable way to learn about Rotorua and New Zealand's most picturesque lakes region.

Tour does NOT include hotel pickup; departure is from the Rotorua Information Center (directions will be on your E-Ticket). Rates are in US dollars. Order online, or call us toll-free at 800-719-8190.

There is a $5.95 USD processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation Policy:

There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

The Family Rate includes 2 adults (17 and up) and 2 children (ages 3-16), at one low price. Each additional adult or child must be purchased at the appropriate regular price.

What do I need to bring/wear?
Please dress according to the weather conditions. From April onwards it can get quite cold on the duck; blankets are available. Don't forget your camera.

Can we bring food on the duck?
Drinks and snacks are allowed.

Is there wheel chair access?
There is no wheel chair access, however, if you don't mind being assisted, your guide can help you board the duck.
